Before
Starting - Print and
Web
1.
Requirements of the
Client.
For any project whether
it is the design of
brochures or the design
of a website, we always
start by identifying
the requirements and
needs of the client.
We ask lots of questions
about the client and
the project. For example
what does the client
want to achieve with
their website? What's
the best way to achieve
the results the clients
are looking for? What
Market should the end-products
appeal to? A specification
sheet is drafted at
this stage which answers
all the questions. We
often refer back to
this document to make
sure we are delivering
the right solutions
for our clients.
2.
Quotation prepared for
the Client
Once a clear and concise
specification is worked
out, we proceed to prepare
a quotation. We also
estimate how long it
will take before completion.
3.
Clients sends a purchase
order
If the client is happy
with our quote, we ask
for a purchase order
from the client, referring
to the quotation number
they were given.
4.
Read the terms and conditions
Once the client has
accepted our quotation,
they are asked to read
our terms
and conditions before
sending out a purchase
order or sending confirmation
to begin work. At this
stage, we may take a
deposit, depending on
the project and agreement,
before beginning the
project.
5.
Confirmation to proceed
Once confirmation to
proceed has been received
along with any deposit
payment, we begin work.

1.
Collation of copy and
graphics of the website.
To streamline the website
development process,
we ask our clients to
provide all copy in
word documents and graphics
before beginning the
project. We also like
to receive any logos
or creative guidelines
our clients might have
for their business,
so we can get an idea
of the business brand
before beginning the
project.
2.
Planning of the website
There are 2 are two
components to this:
2.1 Look and Feel
Examining the branding
of the company and the
specific market. Working
out the colours or themes
for the website. If
company has an existing
look and feel from their
existing branding, we
recreate their brand
in their website.
If a client requires
branding, we start by
examining the market
our clients like to
target and what kinds
of things appeals to
that market. We work
out a brief description
of the look and feel
for the website.
2.2
Structure of information.
This step refers to
the organization of
data and components
of the website. If the
contents for the website
is large, we may break
the contents up into
sections for ease of
understanding. We sketch
up a site map of clients'
website based upon the
contents of the website.
3.
Navigation of the website.
Factors which affect
the navigation include
the size of the website,
the kind of information
and structure we would
like to organize the
data, as well as the
possible need for future
updating of the site.
We like to make websites
intuitive to use and
easy to grow. Website
have a tendency to evolve
and instead of making
sites for our clients
which will require a
whole site redesign
in a few years, we create
sites that has room
for evolution, saving
our clients time and
money.
4.
Mockup of the site
Once we understand
where all the components
of the site will lie
and how the navigation
will be, we start to
design the look of the
site, incorporating
the navigational graphics
for the site. A mockup
graphic of what one
page of the website
will look like, is produced
for client's approval.
If there are multiple
landing pages or vastly
different layout pages,
we make one page for
each. For example a
homepage and a sub page.
5. Creation of the
rest of the site
When the client approves
the mockup, we proceed
to produce other pages
based upon the general
look of the site.
6.
Website Testing and
Debugging
Once all components
and pages of the site
is completed, we test
all links and functionality
of the site, to make
sure everything is in
working order. The client
from here will have
a period to walk through
the contents of the
website. This period
will be the final tweaking
of the website before
it will be launched.
7.Site
goes live and is ready
for online and off line
marketing
Once the website
is free from errors,
we are ready to go live.
At this stage we are
then ready to start
submitting the website
to search engines and
directories. We are
also ready start any
online or offline promotion
of our client's new
website.
